Are they still weaker?

Gender equality has been a talk among every region around the globe. The feminist movement itself was emerged for the single cause of making equal opportunities among the male and female humans. Men are of course physically stronger than women by nature. But man and women have to be treated equal as they both are humans. 

Women in all regions of world had been suffering discrimination and lack of opportunities in society. This has changed a lot now, but we have to go a long way in fact.  

Women have an equal role in the building up of society and they are the ones who are gifted with the power to reproduce. The women have proved over time to be an equal counterpart for man in almost all arenas.  

All of the societies around the world have been evolved as patriarchal ones in one way or another. And this is the problem that women face today. Women really need equal opportunities with men. The authorities of many countries have implemented quite a lot of provisions for the women. But at least a few of them prove to be the efforts to degrade women as a weaker sex.  

The women should be brought up and treated equally with men. The most important action to be taken for this is to ensure good quality of education to both boy and girl children. 

In today's high modern era, the globe has become a home and the rapid exchange of values between the societies takes place. So I hope the discussion of gender equality will keep fire through out the world for a few decades and then the gender inequality would fade away to history.

The notion of gender equality has been a debates over many decades. The question that who is dominant or who is more powerful always sustains as a controversy. The women and women empower movements argue that there is a marginalized class in the circles of our society which is labelled as the weaker sex ,ie, the women. The continuous opression and inequality act as a hole in the flow of the women's development in all sectors. There are various forms of restrictions imposed upon woman in the names of different constructed organizations such as culture, religion,politics etc. These forms of chains are given to the women as soon as a girl child is born. They are taught and advised to practise by the mother at home. At the same time a boy of similar age enjoys all kinds of freedom and he has more choices and voices in his life. Men and women have their own inabilities and strength. So there is no need of any domination and opression. Nowadays women achieves many things that a man can never even dream. What we need is proper education to cultivate respect towards women

Equality in education is an important issue,as gender equality guidelines improve education for both men and women. The goal of providing better education for women doesn't mean neglecting or suppressing men. By placing men and women on an equal level,the relatively increased valuing of women will also benefit men by informing them of the strength capabilities and contributions of members of opposite sex. In our society, women has only a secondary place than the men. Men has the supreme power in the society. Men were considered themselves to be the true leaders and has more capacity to do the great things than the women do. Whatever great things the women do will not be accepted  to that much, that time also they argue men can do more than the women.

Is Gender Equality a Myth?

 All men are created equal. The Indian Constitution provides equality. Then why there is an inequality among the predecessors of Adam and Eve? Even though the people are created equal, they are not treated equally in our patriarchal  society. The women are the ones being discriminated. Is it reasonable to consider women as a weaker section even in this technological world, as written in Manusmriti – “Stree na swathantryamarhathi”.

                  The term gender equality refers to the equal representation of women and men. It does not mean that women and men are the same, but that they have equal value and should be given equal treatment. The United Nations regards gender equality as a human right. And the government of India provides a lot of schemes, special programmes and reservations to empower women. But gender equality is a myth, because we talk much while doing less. Upper class as well as grass root level women are discriminated from the womb to the grave.

INDIVIDUALS; DIFFERENT ONLY IN TASTE

Each individual has their own qualities and inabilities it varies from
person to person.  It’s not the helplessness of an individual.  The
interdependence is a law in nature which is often used in a negative
sense to suppress the growth of a specific gender.
The political institutions which often become only a seasonal update,
curtail the freedom of women though they preach that they stand for
women’s rights.  When an election comes there will be only a less
number of women candidates compared to that of men. The political
system prevailed in Kerala where there is only one female minister is
a notable instance for this. Various religious compartmentalization
too gives less opportunity to the girls and most of them are male
oriented.
The recent movement by Taliban associated organizations where girls
are not allowed even the basic right of education is really shameful
in the modernized world, where technology is considered as a super
power.  The attack against the brave girl Malala who reported their
barbarized practices is really not appreciatable.  The brutal hanging of
the women Raina Jabbari who fought for her basic right of self
protection is a lamentable one.
There are a lot of restrictions imposed upon a women to travel, to
speak even to pray or dress.  Both are created equally though they
have so many physical restrictions. For one’s existence the other is
essential. So it’s no doubt that there is no need for separation as
women and men but individuals with different taste.

Gender equality is one of the flaming issues in our society.It is an important problem because the society never admits the truth that women are equal partners to men.In every field the female sex has to face lots of suffocations and discriminations  from the patriarchal society. They are being abused all around the world.In some families they are deprived of proper education even though it is their right. Social customs and religious views have made woman just an object in the hands of man.We can see these kinds of  violence in media especially in advertisements.Even for the sale of a tooth paste, a woman is embedded  vulgarly in it  to arrest the attention of  the viewer .Because the society needs profit.So that beyond the gaze, they see nothing and never thought of the real woman's psyche.

                 Women are always busy with their indoor activities.They are just hooked in the domestic works like cooking, cleaning,washing,bringing up of children,caring for her husband,etc. She has to live within the boundaries built by her  society. When her voice raised a little , she may considered to be harm to the family because in some families women are deprived of decision taking.

                  Because of this gender inequality and discrimination the whole female race suffer a lot especially mental conflicts.It has become a tradition and the patriarchy is not ready to stop these kinds of prejudices about women and it still goes on .But it should be removed from the society in order to build a prosperous as well as peaceful world.A woman has all the right like a man ,because they are the building stones of the country and its development.

If we search the development of human history in

any part of the world we can see that male

dominated patriarchal society was the prominent

one. It was only during the initial decades of 19th

century many feminist activists were emerged and

started to protest for their liberty and equality.

Today many international organizations have been

working against the gender based discriminations.

Gender based discriminations permeates all cultures

and is often manifested in laws, policies, practices of

institution. For example, in many countries, women

are not afforded the same inheritance rights and

property rights as men. Although inequalities still

exist, it is the women’s natural right to share equal

opportunities and properties unless there is a sound

of biological reason for different treatment. Women

education may be the proper instrument to be used

to empower the female society and raise the

standard of their life in all sectors of society.

എന്നാൽ  സ്ത്രീ അമ്മ കൂടിയാണ് എന്ന വാസ്തവം നാം മറക്കാൻ  പാടുളളതല്ല.
 തന്റെ കുഞ്ഞിനെ പത്തുമാസക്കാലം ഉദരത്തിൽ  ചുമക്കുകയും അവനെ ലോകം കാണിക്കാൻ ത്യാഗം സഹിക്കുന്നവളുമാണ് സ്ത്രീ.
അവൾ  ദൈവതുല്യയാണ്. ആ പരിഗണന അവൾക്ക്‌ കൊടുക്കാനും അവളെ സംരക്ഷിക്കാനുമുളള ബാധ്യത തനിക്കുണ്ടെന്ന് ഓരോ പുരുഷനും ഓർത്താൽ നന്ന്.

...What we need is 'Equity' not 'Equality'... Gender equality is the notion which says that men and women should be treated equally. When both men and women enjoy similar rights and opportunities across the society, Gender equality is achieved. Historians say that except that of Harappan civilization, men were the dominant human beings over women. Men were dominant over women till the recent centuries. But now women and feminists are raising their voice against men. What is happening today? Feminists are rising in bulk from different parts of the world and by demanding complete rights from men they are actually trying to dominate over men. This not a good approach. For instance..the case of bus journey. Today every bus in the country are giving 50% of the seats reserved for women. In the remaining 50%, 25% of the seats are reserved for the Physically challenged and the Senior Citizens. This tendency has to be changed. Everybody should be allowed sit any where they needed or proper separate bus services equally for these men & women & for those senior classes should be allotted. I believe that women are facing cruelty from men in the case of sexual harassment especially molesting cases .Many more suppression from orthodoxies families are also reported against women. Yet another fact is that I have recently read some news where women are arrested for molesting men. So men alone can’t be prosecuted for denying rights to women. so.....What we need is equity not equality.....

എന്തെങ്കിലും പറയണമെങ്കിൽ അത് അവന്റെ മാത്രമായി തീരുന്നു ..
അവനും അവളും വളര്ന്നു തുടങ്ങുന്നത് ഒരു പോലെ  ആണെങ്കിലും പതിയെ പതിയെ അവൻ
ചെയ്യാവുന്നതും അവള്ക്ക് നിഷിദ്ധമായിട്ടുള്ളതുമായ  കാര്യങ്ങളായി പലതും
മാറുന്നു.

ഒരു പെണ്കുട്ടി സ്വന്തം ഇഷ്ടങ്ങൾക്ക് അനുസരിച്ച് നീങ്ങുകയാണെങ്കിൽ
പിന്നെ അവളുടെ മുതുകിലെഴുതുന്ന മുദ്ര തന്റേടി  എന്നാണ്  കായികപരമായ
ശക്തിയാണ് പണ്ട് ആണ് കുട്ടികളുടെ കരുത്തായി വ്യാ
ഖ്യാനിക്കപ്പെട്ടിരുന്നത് .എന്നാൽ ഇന്ന്  പുരുഷനെ വെല്ലുന്നതിനപ്പുറമുള്ള
മേഖലകളിലേക്ക്  സ്ത്രീ സാന്നിധ്യം കടന്നെത്തുണ്ട് . ബൌധിക മേഖല
പരിശോധിക്കുകയാണെങ്കിൽ   പോലും ഭാരത്തിൽ തന്നെ ടെസ്സി തോമസ്  വളര്മതി
തുടങ്ങിയ വനിതകൾ തന്നെ ഉത്തമ ഉദാഹരണം. ..

മയക്കുമരുന്നിനെക്കാൾ സിരയിൽ അള്ളിപ്പിടിച് പടരുന്ന മതമെന്ന വൃണം പോലും
സ്ത്രീകളെ അടിച്ചമർത്താൻ വേണ്ടി മാത്രമാണ് നിയമങ്ങൾ
ഉണ്ടാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നത് എന്ന് തോന്നി പോകും.  അവൾക്കു മുന്നിൽ
കൊട്ടിയടച്ച ആരാധനാലയങ്ങളുടെ കവാടങ്ങളിലൂടെ  അവനു ഏത് രാത്രിയിലും കടന്നു
ചെല്ലാം.' അവൾ' എന്ത് എങ്ങനെ ധരിക്കണമെന്ന് നിയമമുണ്ടാകിയ മതങ്ങൾ എന്ത്
കൊണ്ട്  'അവനെ' പറ്റി മൌനം പാലിക്കുന്നു. സ്ത്രീകൾ അധികാരത്തിൽ

ഊട്ടി ഉറപ്പിക്കുകയാണെന്നു  പറയാതിരിക്കാൻ വയ്യ.  മനുഷ്യ മനസാക്ഷിയെ
ഞെട്ടിച്ച  ഡൽഹി പീഡനം നടന്നപ്പോൾ ഉണ്ടായ രസകരമായ അഭിപ്രായം ഓർക്കട്ടെ.പെണ്കുട്ടി സഹോദരാ എന്ന് വിളിച്ച്കരയണമായിരുന്നുവത്രേ .  ഇതിൽ പരം നാണം
കെട്ട എന്ത് പരാമർശമാണ് സ്ത്രീകൾക്കെതിരെ നടത്താനുള്ളത്.

രസകരമായ മറ്റൊരു വസ്തുത സ്ത്രീകളുടെ സ്വാതന്ത്രം തഴയുന്നത് സ്ത്രീകൾ
തന്നെ ആണ് എന്നതാണ്. ഒരു പെണ്കുട്ടി ശബ്ദമുയര്തിയാൽ ആദ്യം മോശമായി
പ്രതികരിക്കുന്നത് സ്ത്രീ തന്നെ ആണ്.” അവളുടെ ധൈര്യം കണ്ടില്ലേ വളർത്തുദോഷം.  !!!”അമ്മ അല്ലെങ്കിൽ പെണ് സമൂഹം തന്നെയാണ് ആണിന് വഴങ്ങേണ്ടാവളാ എന്ന

തത്ത്വത്തിലൂന്നി  പെണ്ണിന്റെ സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യത്തിനു പരിധികൾ
പഠിപ്പിക്കുന്നതും അതിനെ  ഊട്ടി ഉറപ്പ്പിക്കും വിധം പലപ്പോഴായി തെറ്റ്
തിരുത്തി ഉരുവിട്ട് തല്ലിപ്പഴുപ്പിച്  ആവർത്തിച്ചു  ശരിയാക്കുന്നത് .

രണ്ടു പേരുടെയും നിലനിപ്പിനു  രണ്ടു  കൂട്ടരും കൂടിയെ തീരു എന്നുള്ളപ്പോൾ
ഒരു വേർതിരിവ് എന്തിനാണ്. പരസ്പരാശ്രയം ഒരു കഴിവ് കേടല്ല . ആണായാലും
പെണ്ണായാലും രണ്ട്പേർക്കും അവരുടെതായ പരിമിതികളും പ്രത്യേകതകളും
രുചികളും ഉണ്ട്. അത് ഓരോ തരത്തിൽ ഓരോതോര്ക്ക് നില നിൽക്കുമ്പോൾ ചിലതിനെ
മാത്രം കഴിവ് കേടായി കണ്ട് ഒരു വിഭാഗത്തെ അടിച്ചമർത്തുന്ന പ്രവണതയോട്
യോജിക്കാനാകില്ല . തുല്യത എന്നാ ആശയം  തന്നെയാണ് എന്നും
അന്ഗീകരിക്കപ്പെടെണ്ടത്
